FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENT
ONE: Object. The purpose of this agreement is to manage the system of temporary financial aid to higher education students of Instituto Cervera.
TWO: General conditions. The applicant must:
- Have no outstanding debts with the institute.
- Be a student in good standing whose performance and behaviour align with the spirit of the institute.
- Agree to the benefit valid for one academic year.
- Observe the requirements, deadlines and conditions established by this annual agreement.
- Submit the scholarship application form (see exhibit 1), with the information and documentation required therein.
THREE: Decision-making bodies. The financial aid scholarships will be processed by the administration of the institute and will be regulated by a Scholarship Committee composed of the members of the Board of Directors, and the Director, who will present the proposals to the Chancellor for approval.
FOUR: Call for applications. The applicant can apply at any time of the year. If the financial aid is approved, it will not be retroactive and will only be valid through December of the same year.
FIVE: Financing. Each year, the Board of Directors will include in the budget the amount available for financial aids. The number of scholarships and the amount available will be subjected to that budget.
SIX: Information. All information provided in relation to the application for financial aid scholarships shall be confidential. The decision by the Scholarship Committee and the Chancellor shall not be appealed.
SEVEN: Affidavit. The information provided by the applicant shall be considered an affidavit. If the information proves to be false or distorted, the applicant will be disqualified from receiving financial aid. The school reserves the right to demand the payment of the money not paid in connection with the price reductions previously granted.
EIGHT: Socio-economic and housing conditions report. The required information and documents that are provided by the families shall be checked by a social worker in a socio-economic and housing conditions report commissioned by the Scholarship Committee. The report should assess the extent to which the socio-economic situation of the applicant represents a risk to remain being a student. There are four categories: a) high risk, b) medium risk, c) low risk or d) no risk. “No risk” will a priori result in the denial of the financial aid.
NINE: End-of-year report. At the end pf every academic year, the performance of the scholarship beneficiaries will be reviewed, marking as an precedent for future applications or renewal. The administration will be informed whether the beneficiaries have complied with the requirements in this agreement. If minimum requirements are not met, the administration will promptly suspend the benefits until the next billing cycle. This decision shall be deemed final after the approval by the Scholarship Committee and the endorsement by the Chancellor.
TEN: Responsabilities of the beneficiary.
- Higher level students must regularly attend the subjects to which they have enrolled (full or partial in-person attendance), take term exams and hand in all the requested practical works.
- Higher level students signing up for the last one (1) or the last two (2) subjects of the programme shall pay 50% or 75% of the current fee, respectively.
